Efficient Spa Covers:Â An easy way to decrease our ecological footprint
With all the current concern today with "going green" and "sustainable development" I hear a lot more of my customers interested in energy consumption when they ask about my product. I manufacture Custom Hot Tub Covers with the main focus being to save energy by allowing the least amount of heat loss.Â
The spa is commonly one of the biggest energy wasters in and around the home. Having a non insulating cover on your spa would be similar to leaving your doors and windows open in your house and trying to maintain a steady comfortable temperature.
By simply replacing a cracked or old hot tub cover you could instantly experience the savings of lower power consumption. Also, by purchasing a spa cover that lasts longer we can reduce the amount of landfill waste we create.Â
Lets say there are 1 million hot tubs worldwide. If every couple years those spa covers need replaced and each contains approximately 8 sq ft of styrofoam (which is not commonly recycled) 4 inches thick, it would be easy to see how a problem could arise in just a few years.Â
Now imagine that same landfill after 30 years.Â
Warning, shameless plug follows: There are replacement spa covers that do not have a styrofoam core, insulate much better, and if properly cared for, last years longer. If everyone in the world would purchase one of these covers two very wonderful things would happen. First, the world would be a much cleaner place to live in, Second, and perhaps most important, I would become a very rich man. Muhahaha!
